Basically, the author is saying that Fat Acceptance Activists and those who support HAES are actually demonizing fat people who aren't subscribed to the delusional Fat Acceptance argument.

This is because fat activists "challenge fat phobia by asserting that one's own fatness is neither due to poor eating habits nor a lack of exercise and then highlight the ways in which one engages in 'proper' diet and physical activity" as prescribed by HAES (i.e. that you should eat whenever you want and not exercise if it doesn't make you "feel good").

So, through their delusions, they are "demonizing" fat people who are fat because of their bad eating habits and lack of exercise. Which, as we would all agree, makes up pretty much ALL fat people, including activists. Thus, not only are fat actvists oppressing the ones they should be helping the most, they are simultaneously (although unconsciously) demonizing themselves.

Edit: words.

So, in a nutshell, HAES and fat activists are so delusional that they're oppressing themselves. Is it sad how ironic that is?

This report/article thing seems really interesting. Do you have a link to the rest of it?

LeBesco is actually an extremely established author in critical public health and communication studies, and she's a tenured professor. So...
