You're thinking from a very ego-centric point of view.

This is nothing to do with ego. It has everything to do with well studied science. Science you seem to think is irrelevant unless it happens to support your narrative.

Why does a gesture of support even have to meet your approval?

It's not a question of my approval or not. I didn't say don't do it. I said it's ultimately not constructive, and there are more constructive things that could be done. There's a key difference here, and you're getting so angry you're not thinking logically about that difference.

It's not necessary for every gesture of support be "religion-neutral"

Does it still matter if the target of the prayer doesn't believe in God? Religion neutral sentiments are for everyone, not just the religious. Also, you can always put your religious sentiments in the card if you like. Either way, it's more meaningful than prayer.
