I am a young, white woman, which gives me the immense privilege of pulling up a creepy van and parking it without being harassed
One more thing to add to the list because she's absolutely right.
This is bs. I live in the bay area and yes it is ridiculously expensive. I make 20 an hour which isnt much here but I can afford to rent out my own room in a shared house for 800. Yes it sucks commuting 2 hrs a day total but thats life here for now. Ill do better eventually but its better than most people are doing. Theres plenty of shares on craigslist and if youre a female its even easier to find your own room cause most are female only.

"and I am a young, white woman, which gives me the immense privilege"
So now they admit it.

I thought being absolutely useless at software development was one of the prerequisites to being a software developer living in Bay Area. I mean, anything I've seen come out of that cesspool was horrendous. People keep talking about how Indians are terrible, but the worst WTFs I've ever seen were coded by Californians who thought they were the smartest person on the planet.

Rent wouldn't be so high if the government would keep its big nose out of the housing market. They prop up home prices and people can no longer afford to buy a starter home or apartment which drives the rental demand up and corresponding prices. Everywhere the government gets involved, there are problems. Look at the student debt bubble created from guaranteed government loans.

The homeless pop of SF is retarded high, and everyone leaves them alone. While they shit on the streets. SF smells bad. If you touch or get mad at them you're literally evicted from SF.
