Upvoat from a fellow fit cyclist. Same experience: fatties are the only ones that yell, honk or drive dangerously near me. And I do obey all traffic laws.

If the road is six lanes across, it sounds like a highway - in which case, yes, you do need to get the fuck off the road before you get killed and cause others to be injured as well.

At least where I am, if there are no bike lines, bikes are supposed to share the road with cars. Riding on the sidewalk is considered dangerous to pedestrians.

I live/work in a city with lots of bike lanes and cyclist commuters (and a generally pro-cycling culture), but there is a contingent of suburban commuters that seems to take great delight in fucking with cyclists. It's always fat fucks, too. The notion that someone gets some exercise at the same time as they commute must be highly offensive to them or something. We have some of the worst traffic in the country, and these people are getting out of their cars to try to ease some of the congestion, yet they still fucking bitch and moan about having to once in awhile drive around a cyclist. In some ways I wish traffic would get so bad that these fat shits would find themselves unable to commute daily and quit their jobs.

I moved from Boston to the south ten years ago. The few attemps I made at cycling on the roads around here, I got similar harassment. Swerving their pickup trucks at me, yelling, etc.

Most everbody here drives carefully around cyclists right? I'm usually terrified of hitting them if im trying to pass.
