The whole mentality of "loosing everything if they find out" only exists because people are refusing to stand up united and address the problem. Cowards don't make changes.
The problem is that everyone should stand up at the same time, because If I'm the only one standing up, they're just going to bring me down. I can't blame anyone for flying low, because we're easy targets. This is not a matter of being cowards, it's about not being idiots.

You're right everyone should stand up at the same time. But we don't have a hive mentality so that will NEVER happen. So, it does take people standing up alone (leadership) to make a stand and unite others for the cause.
Pretend you're in a gas station. I don't know what type of person you are. But I know what type of person I am. If said gas station gets robbed while we are in there I'm going to try and do something to stop it, it's just who I am and how I was raised. I'm guessing that if (you) were in there with me and (you) might not be the type to stand up alone (you) might also try to help me when you see that I'm going to try and stop the problem and you will have help.
At the end of the day if all we do is bitch about our feelz and sheeiitt are we really any better than them (gibs me dat solution to r probs no wat im sayN)? Because just talking about stuff between friends and family will not fix this problem it will take public outcry and action.

I get where you're coming from, and by the way I'm the kind of guy who would certainly intervene somehow, unless it's clearly suicide. Anyway, I'm ready to do something about the problem, but two (or twenty) men are not enough. We are outnumbered.
