He looks at it from the completely wrong point of view. People should be allowed to carry because it's a basic right. No other reason needed. I personally think most people that carry are way too paranoid, but it's not my place to force my opinion on them. If you want to convince me a ban is needed you are going to have to give me VERY good reasons they shouldn't be allowed. And I don't see it here. College campuses are full of adults. Making some law banning guns will stop absolutely no one who really is intent on crime while punishing those with no intention. Where's the benefit there?

The only thing I see it does is make people who are scared of guns feel safer and that's not good in a society where guns are legal. If anything our educational institutions should be making people fell safer about the guns they will be around, known or not, throughout their lives.

I think you are missing what the freedom of gun ownership represents. You are free to own a firearm, organizations should be free to ban the possession of a firearm on their premises, you are free to abide by their wishes or go somewhere else. Why is this such a big deal? When does the freedom of the individual over ride the freedom of others?

Yelling "fire" in a crowded theater was singled out by the SCOTUS as an example where free speech is not protected. Why is it necessary for you to be able to carry a firearm wherever you go? You have the choice of where you go. Why isn't that enough?

Tell that to the people shooting up schools cuck.

I considered campus carry an overblown fringe issue gun activists use to justify making everyone else uncomfortable so they can exercise their own personal "security."

For fucks sake I'm surprised he didnt say triggered. Didint OR have like one unarmed guard? Why do liberals hate security?

The only individuals approved to carry firearms on campus are law enforcement, which, unfortunately, doesn't inspire comfort given the raging police abuse issues across the United States.

OMG this cuck is against cops having guns.... This prof is an idiot.

This POS owns a gun yet is against carry rights... He is fighting himself. I cant believe people like this teach people.

"For years, I've tried to stay out of campus carry discussions because I considered campus carry an overblown fringe issue gun activists use to justify making everyone else uncomfortable so they can exercise their own personal "security." "

My god, some people wanting to exercise their rights. How dare they! Instead of this, we need to tell them that their exercise of rights is not only illegal, but they are selfish for wanting to do so.

"I don't believe my students' chances in life will be improved by allowing campus carry, and, moreover, there is no evidence to suggest so."

Most mass murders occur in places that ban guns. When a person wants to kill a lot of people, they tend to avoid places like gun shows and police departments, as they know they will be cut down quickly. They instead target the places where people are most likely to be defenceless. By banning guns on a premise, you increase the danger that a person who wants to inflict a lot of harm to a lot of people will attack there.

Side note: There are shootings at police departments every year, but they usually only have one casualty - the criminal.

"Everything about firearms screams their designed purpose: to expeditiously dispatch living things. "

A firearm's purpose is to expel a small piece of metal from a hollow cylinder very quickly and to be able to place that piece of metal at range accurately.

I miss having the illusion of professors as being smart individuals.
