Here's what I do: Whenever I get one of those large, deep rooted, puss-volcano's on my face (or even tiny ones) I usually put some tea tree oil on it once or twice a day. I've had the same small bottle of tea tree oil for years cause I never need that much. I get a small amount on my pinky and rub it onto the zit. For me it's always worked better than other acne treatments. The zits are usually get smaller or are almost gone by the next day depending on their size.
You do have to be careful not to use too much of course so don't go crazy with it trying to get rid of the zit quicker. Sometimes you'll still have to do some popping. I'll pop the zit and wipe it off with a tissue, then add a tiny bit more oil onto it.
I'm no doctor but that's what I do and it's worked well so far.

What works for other people may not work for you. Dont get discouraged.
For myself, just one step doesnt work. I use a nice foaming facial cleanser.
A toner with salicylic acid. Spot treat with a benzyl peroxide cream, 2.5% or 5% and a gentle skin moisturizer
you dont have to use those exact products, but each product plays a role in treating and protecting your skin. Clean, exfoliate, medicate, moisturize. if its about to burst, drain what you can without causing trauma to the area before treating. If you are dealing with a cyst that wont heal, please consider a dermatologist.

Cut off your nose. The blemish will never come back.
