I think my English needs a lot of tweaking- I understood maybe 1/3 of this article.IMHO very poorly written.
Harper didn't turn anyone into anything they didn't wish to be in the first place. If you read actual law on revoking of citizenship it's clear that it won't be easy to do.Personally I wish government started actually charge terror suspects with treason and make sure everyone knows why(a.i. make it public).
On what I got I think "old stock" Canadians were of totally different breed. There is just no way to compare them and folks coming here for last 40 years or so (yup, that includes me).
They came to much poorer country, with a lot less welfare programs (if any) and for the most part rolled up their sleeves and got to work.
Just about all of them had families, many children and usual troubles coming with it.
On other hand recent arrivals seem to be coming here with hand stretched out and "gimme, gimme" attitude-something unheard off 40 years back.
Only exception I can think of are Sikhs-they can and do work. There are countless firms and businesses owned by them, they take part in civic life around them (look up list of candidates this coming election) and they have growing families.Best of all unlike many other minorities they don't seem to be closing themselves in ghettos-they are very open to everyone (that's my experience for last 20 years).
