What bothers me even more is that this mayor actually gave them his passwords. The appropriate response is to politely refuse first, sternly refuse second, then for each additional request spit in the requester's filthy fucking fascist face.
This mayor ought to be leading us into a full-on rebellion against this type of bullshit by relating to us tales of having to bite his own lips to draw enough blood to conjure up the mouthful of hate he spewed at the failed American demanding his passwords.
Instead he bent over, gave them what they demanded, and is now crying about how he's a pussy in the face of unconstitutional overreach.

Nunya1234ArgoFY! Make it count it is the only password you'll get until my attorney gets here.

This is insane. They took the Mayor's laptop and phone, held him hostage at the airport until he gave passwords, and then kept all his devices for a couple days.
They can copy all the data off your cell phone with a forensic scanning device quickly now over usb http://thenextweb.com/us/2011/04/20/us-police-can-copy-your-iphones-contents-in-under-two-minutes/ If they had his devices for 2 days, they created complete copies of all his systems to dig through, and stored them for future use against him.
This is why you should use encryption.

That is why you use Truecrypt, and have multiple containers. One with regular junk for the snoops, and one with your stuff in it they cannot detect.
Never heard of toolwiz. It is an interesting idea, but it's not open source and they don't even answer tech support questions posted on their own forum http://forums.toolwiz.com/viewforum.php?f=7&sid=d246f10618937cdd47a1cd6fbd7b8239
