Not a bad question. I honestly don't know. I simply left reddit in search of something that didn't feel like a blatant internet advertisement paradise.
Can't honestly be sure if it is better but I have enjoyed the experience here more than I had been enjoying my experiences elsewhere.

cool, yeah someone in r/conspiracy mentioned it and my spouse (more internet savvy) was familiar. And I've been sure for a while that Reddit was a compromised medium

Depends on the subverse, I was censored on v/politics by a mod.

yes sjw snagged some subverses, they aren't stupid

you already made the front page within 55 minutes of posting.

I do not believe voat is any better or worse than Reddit. In my opinion voat is best when used beside Reddit. I like to compare and contrast between posts and comments. They balance each other. I do prefer commenting on voat due to the lower volume of posts.

Voat also doesn't sell out to corporate interests. Paid-for topics don't magically make the front page to push an advertising or promotional agenda. Without a corporate board of trustees who need to turn a huge profit, a broader spectrum of discussion is the norm. Ideas and education on topics that don't flow with social justice critics and corporation interest are much more prominent and have an equal chance to be seen by the entire audience of voat.

More racists and mysoginists here
[–] XAPHAN 0 points 6 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago
That is because you are not told what to think here. ( freedom of speech and stuff ). Therefore the racists and misogynists can rant and embarrass themselves all they want, and the rest of us can see who they are and distance ourselves from them.

There may be a higher concentration but pure numbers still belong to Reddit.

The racist crap annoys me, but it's part of free speech. I'd rather see that than the ridiculous astroturfing at Reddit - "Did you guys know Taco Bell is selling a new burrito? Oh man it's soooo good! You should all go to Taco Bell and try one! It's delicious! Man, I sure do love Taco Bell."
[–] Spear6000 ago (edited ago)
lol, accurate. That's all they have left to talk about over there because anything remotely controversial is off the table.

Best analogy I've heard for dealing with the racism is considering it the canary in the coal mine in regards to freedom of speech.

It's probably the exact same ratio, just here they don't get banned, shadow banned, and kicked off of subs.
Well, they do get kicked out of some subs,
