The 'Islamic jurisprudence' you mentioned is what I meant when I wrote draconian thought and belief.

For instance, if a man's wife cheats on him, that's her conscious decision to do so. Even though that establishes her as a cheating whore, she doesn't need to be stoned for it or live in fear that she should burn in hell for all eternity for having done so.

You say that the stoning to death for adultery never happens but that is in contradiction with the almost daily reports from Islamic countries where people suffer that very same fate.

Furthermore, you took pains to describe how the Sharia law on adultery makes sense in an Islamic context. I fail to see how that is a good thing!

Even though something is that impossible to prove (it wouldn't be that difficult if you actually think about it) but just the fact that it prescribes such a fatal and vindictive punishment is enough to discredit Sharia as being any right for a modern world. The article also highlights that nearly a billion Muslims want to establish/favour that kind of law.

Islam is defended constantly as a religion of peace everywhere by the moderates, hence my description.
