As big a whinger and hypocrite is, he has a point about the FA.The referees have been absolutely atrocious this season. They've made terrible decisions that have grossly affected matches. Of all the seasons I've watched, this has to be the worst Referee-mistake ridden season. Aging officials who can't keep up with the speed of the modern game. Crucial calls being left at the mercy of two linesmen who can't run faster than a ball. Decisions being swayed by fans amongst other errors. Mix all this together with the shit local football governing body that is the English FA, and you've got a circus run by clowns.
Today, instead of just admitting that Kevin Friend and officials weren't in the right position to see Mignolet's handball outside the box, they make a call with a bullshit statement about how they got it right when in reality, they clearly didn't. We understand they're human and know there's no way they could've judged it out of the box when they weren't in the line of view but no. They always have to find some bullshit statement about how there's never any fault on their end.

Despite the multiple decisions that went our way last night, I must agree with you. Some will say that it is part of football, the little mistakes here and there but this season it has just gone overboard. Not sure what the solution is, I would like instant replays with a ref watching to pass a message on but can see that it would only work in specific instances, when there is an actual stop in play, other than that it would cause issues. To add on, I think the referees should be able to come out and say they made a mistake. Explain how the mistake came about, improve in that area and move on. Wasn't Howard Webb suppose to be doing an explanation segment of specific referee decisions this season to help bridge that gap between referees and managers/players/fans??

I believe he did and Robbie Earle said so on the NBC stream I watched. Football can take a lot from Rugby Union officiating. They play just as fast and their system of communication to make decisions seems to work very well. To not have the pressure of some thousands of supporters screaming for you to make a tough decision but rather have someone with a better view aid you in decision making could be a game changer for football.
Obviously there are some things which will need ironing out (a decision has to be made in seconds so going upstairs stops the flow or an advantage).
