I did not know that reddit did that. It's a good idea. I always realize that I have botched a comment right after hitting 'sbumit'.

Then you would go back to add to your comment, and by the end your addition was longer than the original comment. That always made me feel stupid for screwing up a comment so badly.

More interesting would be to see the old version of comments and the diffs.

Edit: and being able to set a reason for the edit, like on mediawiki/wikipedia.

I was just thinking that. It is incorporated into wiki quite well. I guess fast moving comment threads may be a different kettle of fish.
