I've decided that Colbert sucks. He spent so much time playing a faux-Bill O'Reilly character that he's become O'Reilly - an obnoxious ideologue who spends every interview talking over his own guests and trying to outshine them. I don't know if this stage is too big for him or the Colbert Report's success went to his head, but the Colbert who was funny on Strangers with Candy is long gone.
Trump held his own despite Colbert's best attempts to stump him.
Are they still pronouncing his name 'kol-bear'? Heard that on the premiere and was surprised, since that was supposedly his persona's pronunciation since he had always gone by Steve 'kol-bert' before. Was confused as to whether he was still playing his part.. still wasn't sure after the show was over.

Seems like Colbert got exponentially more annoying since I stopped watching his old show years ago. Makes me wonder why he's still relevant enough for late nite TV after his massively overblown hackneyed shtick at comedy central.
