I think that the series should have stopped at Terminator 2 in the first place. It told a complete story, it was a rare good sequel, there was no need to fuck everything up by trying to keep milking that cow.

Totally agree, if it ended there, as much as I wanted a sequel, knowing what i know now, I wish they hadn't made any of them.

I always wanted to see the rise of the machines in the original timeline. Show the events leading up to the rise of the machines, show the actual rise of the machines, show the resistance fighting the machines before Kyle was sent back, show the events leading up to Kyle being sent back in time, etc. Those events still would have had to have happened.

I want to see a reboot in which Sarah Conner is not more bad ass then the soldiers from the future or even the Terminator.

There should have been no Terminator reboot. There should have been no Genisys. The franchise should have ended with the 5th film.
The fifth film should revisit the events of the first, only this time John Conner realizes his mistakes, that his actions have created and endless loop in which Judgement Day always happens and that the only way to prevent it, is by doing just what Skynet wants, and sends Kyle Reese back in time to kill Sarah Conner.

I really enjoyed the movie, though I enjoy anything with Arnie in it. First I've heard of a trilogy being done with Genisys but I'll be looking forward to it.
