Tried it on my note 4 on Android 5.0.1 the emergency dialer doesn't allow copy pasting, and there is no emergency dialer to pull down in camera mode.

Give it a shot and let us know, takes a couple of minutes maybe if you don't have the pin lockscreen enabled.

Can anyone confirm this? I have an LG G3 and there's multiple reasons this doesn't work. How many phones are affected? Is it almost all with 5.0/5.1?

Does not work on Samsung Note 3 5.0 build n900VVRUEOF1. Select, copy, paste, and status bar are disabled on the lock screen and emergency dialer.

So, you have to have had unfettered access to the phone in an unlocked state in order to drop a sufficiently large wall of text into the clipboard prior to the phone being locked? And you're worried about a potential buffer overflow on the locking program itself? How about the malicious actor who already has full access to your phone? Why would he even give a crap about buffer overflows? He can just download and install any number of backdoors...

Emergency calling needs to be enabled, you need to be able to select text from the emergency calling window, and you need access to the camera so you can paste text in the camera.

this exploit also doesn't work with PIN or pattern locks, just password it seems. it also only affects Android 5+. This exploit probably only affects a very small number of devices.

Wouldn't surprise me that this was put in purposely.
