well then we shouldn't allow for them to control when they're on and when they're off. i dont remember ever hearing that cops could control their body cams, but if that is true then that is a problem. and even if it does cost money to do that, are you saying that its not worth it? i mean, if you think cops need to be monitored all the time because there will be instances of cops bashing skulls on cement, wouldn't it be worth it to put some funding into body cams? wouldn't that be more appropriate than having some schlep getting the footage to upload to youtube so that sovereign citizens can jerk off to a cop getting flustered and tripping up because he hadn't mentally prepared to perform like some fucking circus clown on camera? i mean, fuck. these are normal people who have the world watching their every move because of some shit cops who have a short fuse. it can be solved in a less pretentious and snarky way

Its not that having body cams isn't worth it, its that the money needs to come from somewhere. That aside, cops can turn them on and off. Even if every cop has a body cam, citizens have the right to video the encounter on their own device for their own record.
