You need to elaborate on what would deem Voat a success and Reddit failing. IMO, Voat is already a success. So far with Voat, I feel like I did with reddit years ago. Happy. There are great discussions and plenty of quality posts. Reddit has failed. It has taken on an ideology that is the same magnitude as the far right they used to brigade against. Without discussion free of name calling and other childish things, Reddit has failed.

Reddit it currently the 10th most popular website in the US. It will take a long time for it to fail, but as for Voat I already see it as being successful. Lots of quality discussion and there is an active community.

It's not a matter of size, it's a matter quality. Right now on /v/all there are several posts from /v/conspiracy and /v/BlackPeopleTwitter, so it looks like vote has quickly caught up with reddit in terms of shit-level content becoming popular.

Reddit isn't too big to fail. You know how I know this?
Because no website is too big to fail.
Look at Myspace. When Myspace was big, it was the #1 website in the world or something like that. Now it's a ghost town. Same thing with Blogspot, Somethingawful, Altavista, etc. etc. etc.
Like all things, Reddit will pass.
