Recent? The NSA shit has been going on for 20 years.

Bill is scum, he's a moron, with his loc-business model, intentional holes in windows and all this leads up to the dropping of all pretenses and just showing the world that all of microsoft products make money by selling you out.

he hid it, at least the latest ones don't

If I was his kid I would be pissed. Dude has 80 billion. Why not 100 million? Seriously, 5 million isn't shit nowadays. At least do they also get the house? This is borderline child abuse.

Windows might not be so great right now but Bill Gates is very generous with his money. He's a great guy for it. He's working on giving Africa clean drinking water too. He does a lot people don't really know about. I'll always support him for his philanthropy even as my support for his company dwindles.

Africans don't need bill Gates to find water. Farmers don't need Bill Gates seeds and fertilizers. They can take care of themselves. They've been there thousands of years. Bill is an arrogant fuck at best, and fascist trying to dominate global seed market at worst. He doesn't want to teach them how to make a sustainable plot of land that uses all on site materials for free and is organic. He's talking about his best interests, not the farmers best interests. It's in Bill Gates best interest that the small farmers become dependent on him for chemicals and seeds.

Why do I get the feeling that of course he's not talking about small farmers here in the US or any western country, not that they matter anyway. EDIT Yup made the post before I read the article. Nailed it.

Bill Gates = Monsant0. Bill Gates doesn't want to help small farmers. Nor does he know anything about farming. These "poor farmers" have been fine for thousands of years without needing our, " improved seeds fertilizer, irrigation systems, and other beneficial technologies, as farmers in rich countries do". He wants to force he's monsanto style of agriculture on people who don't need it. Rather than focus on actually stopping climate change, he's looking to use the Shock Doctrine to expand his market and M0ns@nt0s power. Bill Gates is a technologist who has no idea how to take care of the natural world and he's arrogant for believing anyone other than himself needs his help.

thats what he supports. he may say he wants to help with climate change, he just wants to encourage use of seed that can withstand any climate. he's a huge fan of monsanto and GMO in general.

Those priorities according to Gates include better water management, to protect against drought; research to develop seeds that are drought and pest-resistant and do not demand as much expensive fertiliser. But it was not strictly about technology, Lamb said.

One again only listing benefits and none of the proven dangers of these seeds. When will society learn not to blindly trust science when all the research papers are published by conglomerates with invested interest in keeping things the way they are? Look at other countries!

The other guy had a great response. But additionally, he actually is involved with the company. http://www.theguardian.com/global-development/poverty-matters/2010/sep/29/gates-foundation-gm-monsanto

Lol don't be ignorant. Though i enjoy the irony. Any idea why those farmers are committing suicide? Probably not otherwise you wouldn't have commented lmao. They bought shit they didn't need, went into debt, got market crops hooked on chemicals they can't afford and now can't remember how they used to be self sustaining instead of market crops only. Infact, the farmer suicides are exactly why Bill Gates "plan" is fucked. http://www.theecologist.org/News/news_analysis/2566719/un_only_small_farmers_and_agroecology_can_feed_the_world.html

Wait. So giving money to farmers is going to make the end of the world in a few decades better?

Heh. Poor dude is blinded by his billions.

come on man. you have a brain. try to use it. He is talking about helping farmers when they have a bad harvest. Global warming doesn't mean the end of the world. It means parts of the world are going to go through seriously shitty times. Don't be a doofus.

I guess it's a kind of perspective. I'm just being realistic to be honest.

Thing is, a lot of the food we eat today comes from big agricultre corps, who make quite the profit while they destroy the world's land, to feed the extra 6.5 billion people than the world can handle.

These 'small time farmers' that Bill Gates talks about are usually supplying to big corps.

Giving money to the farmers as a one off is pointless. You need to convince the big corp fat cats to sacrifice a few of their 30 vacations a year to pay them more.

But good luck with that, since theirs this thing called greed.
