I was thinking the other day of the problem my country (England) will have going into the future. That we have to import more and more of our food despite every piece of decent land already used for farming. As of now we import 40% off all our food. But it got me thinking, about 60% of the population is obese, i bet we could cut down consumption by 20-30% just by banning fatties. This would essentially be a looser form of rationing, but we've done it twice before. If we also cut down wastage i bet we could nearly balance the books.

So yeah, when one person takes resources for 2 or 3 healthy people, it becomes a problem.

The natural resource drain from obesity is an important topic but one that no mainstream media will touch because of hurt fatty feelings.

Obesity in the USA requires access to cheap calories and those calories generally are shipped all around the country and in some places internationally before they reach the gaping maw of the obeast. Increased use of fuel to air condition facilities that cater to fatties. Increased use of fuel to run fatty transportation. Increased demand on natural resources and abuse of the third world to produce cheap clothing for obeasts that wears out quickly. Fatties waste more food than thin people - they purchase food with the intention to cook, order fast food instead and toss the fresh food when it goes bad (this is a nitpicky point - most of the waste with food occurs before it ever hits the supermarket but the point that fatties waste more food than thin people is valid).

Then we get into the human costs of obesity - occupying all the hospital beds, injuring nurses, creating runs on specific medications, slowing progress in the workplace, lost man hours due to illness and on and on. Fat people talk all the fucking time about how they have the right to occupy space and they say this as their asses are crushing the world.

I've noticed this too. My new BMW has massive front seats compared to my old one. Makes me kind of sad. Still love the car but hate the fatties. I can't fault automakers for catering to their majority audience. As I always say, given the opportunity to exploit fat fucks for personal gain, I'll do that any day.

edit: And by personal gain I mean in a monetary fashion.

They need to figure out a way to implement a fat tax, similar to the cigarette tax and the airline fat tax. There are so many ways their fat assery is costing us humans so much more money, anytime anything has to be fat-ass accommodated it should be added to this fat tax.

Raise the price of junk foods? Use the extra tax to put a little towards their health cost.

That wouldn't really work, lots of healthy people eat junk food but in moderation. I love oreos but a box will last me a month or two, it's not a single snack. I think it needs to be on a broader spectrum. I was thinking something along the lines of raising taxes, and if you can prove your in the healthy range, you get a tax credit. It's not just healthcare that's more expensive, larger seats, more maintenance on vehicles, elevators etc fattys ruin everything. There was talk about making seats on roller coasters fatty certified, and you know the cost of that is going to covered by increasing the admission fees for everyone, not just the fattys who need it. Plus it's going to get to a point where seats etc are so large they can't accommodate human sized people anymore, we'll need special harnesses to keep us from falling out.
