It's just a platform. It's like saying the telephone is a mindtrap with no productivity - sure it is, if that's how you use it.
I get the privacy concerns, because there's some Orwellian shit going on there, but the content is more reflective of the kind of people you associate with than anything else.

I think people are addicted to it and there's nothing productive coming from it. It is just unfortunate because I see the internet offering up limitless potential and people are stuck only going through Facebook. As an internet platform it makes me disheartend to think people will never look to anything else.

I agree, and there's a simple solution: don't go on it.

Haven't logged on since Nov 2014. Coming up on 1 yr anniversary without it. I can't even begin to explain the rewards regarding my mental health and general well being. Its become the fucking Wal-Mart of the internet. Which is why I don't go there anymore.

Totalllllllly agree...but sometimes I get ptsd when I look around and everyone is on it at the same time. The platform is just sooo bad I don't get the complacent mediocrity. It's hard for me because when I have to defend myself for why I don't like Facebook it really offends people for some reason and I am just looking for other people's perspectives for WHY the don't use it.
