I agree with what you're saying, but I wanted to let you know in Palestine they're generally not allowed to leave, or they're too poor to leave. It's essentially an open-air prison. Even exit by sea is blocked by Israeli warships. They are trapped.

At this time they are in a pickle. They share border with Israel and Egypt. Understandably Israel doesn't allow them passage because they have been at war for decades. Egypt once allowed freer passage but even they do not want them and the problems that Hamas would bring to their country. There are any number of Muslim nations who could have offered them sanctuary over the years and could do so today but are not stepping forward.
