At this point, we need better enforcement of the preexisting laws. What the hell is the point of creating more laws when the current ones are ignored

Isn't that the definition of a "loophole," though? A problem with a law that needs to be fixed?

It's not a loophole if it's completely disregarded. A tax loophole is setting up a small business intended to lose money for a write off. An insane person stealing their parents gun isn't a loophole.

Because if you give the gun control lobby an inch they will take a mile. It would be fine if it stopped at background checks but it won't. Historically speaking once you start letting them whittle away at your rights you lose your rights

Do you have any evidence to support this claim?

Britain, Australia, other countries that started with "reasonable" wound up at near total disarmament.

We've passed hundreds of gun control laws in the last hundred years, one more should end crime right? "Oops another shooting, one more, and that's the last infringement, we promise." I'm not playing that game.

Criminals don't follow laws.

Nearly all mass shooting events occur in areas where weapons are prohibited.

There are some "true believers" on the gun control side, people directly affected by criminals. For most though, it's a culture war against self reliance. Idealists vs pragmatists.

If the atf has a list of every gun sold and who it was sold too you have registration. Registration is illegal.

Recently I tried to buy a rifle. Even though I passed the background check the atf decided I needed to wait 5 days to purchase it. I was only home from work for 5 before returning to the road. No rifle for me.
