That's the reason I changed from reddit too. Voat seems to have a more constructive culture, but increse in traffic may decrease that.

I think the main advantage of voat as of now is the small community size and the general culture of high effort comments. You can already see low effort "fluff" content floating to the top of the front page (gifs, reaction images, memes) that makes reddit insufferable, but at least the discussions inside of the threads are, at the very least, not completely uninteresting.

That being said, I suspect the quality of both the posts and comments will decrease as the user base increases; if it ever does that is.

It's especially troubling that reddit is publicly considering the actual establishment of a "thought-police" system. You offended someone? That's a banning!

Same here, lots of questionable and downright shady stuff going on over at reddit. This place is looking like a really great alternative! Nice to see free speach and openness encouraged. :)
