Portuguese is my mother language. I do think in English from time to time, specially when I read something in English or think about something I read or communicated in English.

I typically think in english but sometimes slip into French or Spanish without realizing it. It mostly happens after I've watched or read something in that language.

Depends on the language I last spoke/read in... if I read English, then I usually think in English as well. After a while it usually resets back to my native language though (Finnish), unless English is used again or if I expect to use it soon again.

If I am speaking or writing in English then the thoughts switch language as well - it is easier to process everything in a single language at a time, however there are exceptions where the languages may be mixed (even changing the language multiple times within the sentence), in a case where something is easier to say in the other language or if the right word does not come up right away).

I have noticed a weird (but sort of logical) phenomenom, I once read some joke in Finnish that happened to mention FBI. I would recall reading the joke in English and be very certain it would have been in English, however upon checking the original source I was surprised to find it was actually in Finnish. The context just was more likely to have it been in English.

Also, dreams can at times be in either English or Finnish, or have different contexts (such as conversations with people from different origins) where the languages can be mixed.

Whichever version of a word is faster to sound out, so in my head if my brain thinks "good" then my internal voice says "gut," and with "bad" it's still "bad" instead of "schlecht."
