You could always move to Washington state where they have legal "dueling" laws. I understand the issues with unsanctioned fights, it really isn't too complex an issue. It is just a sad state of affairs that two grown adults can't agree to these matches. There have to be licenses and paperwork and butthurt feelings.

You don't understand. It's not as simple as "two people agree to a fight even though one isn't qualified to face their opponent" or something like that. We're talking about professional trained athletes fighting untrained morons, not two people fighting on a street. You really don't know how fucking dangerous that is. Also, even Washington has an athletic commission that regulates amateur and professional MMA, so bringing up their mutual combat law makes no sense. There's no sense in comparing athletic competitions to street fight situations because there are more liability issues in MMA when compared to street fights and mutual combat situations.
And here's the thing about paperwork and licenses: they keep guys who are trying to make it in the game safe from getting seriously injured or catching a blood disease. What you have on these shows are people who are either recovering from injuries, shouldn't be fighting, and going into a cage without having bloodtests done to make sure they don't have HIV or Hepatitis when fighting. This isn't about "butthurt feelings" or anything, it's about making sure nobody gets killed.

(I am going to go sentence to sentence straight rebuttal. I am saying that so you don't have to exert your "think box" too hard.)
Thanks for just giving lip service to my understanding and not actually thinking, it really shows where you stand here. It is that simple, you are just falling into the articles catches of it trying to say the clothing make the fighter. You make outrageous assumptions here thinking a trained professional isn't going to be able to gauge another fighter. Thanks again for the assumptions on my ability to understand fighting (I would posture here and make claims of what I do, but I really don't think you merit much of a grand stand). Sure thing, they have a commission, another entity solely to gain profits from "regulating" matches, it is all a farce that managers and the people that own the rings have to dance in order to have matches (if it is something you don't understand then I will make the assumption you don't know much about actual regulations and more assume your understanding of what a match should be legally is all you concern yourself with). [To add onto you jab on bringing up mutual combat laws] Look up Phoenix Jones... You probably won't because you don't want to know what a mutual combat law looks like because it would crush this tiny fantasy land of fighting you have. You continue with the liability garbage when it is only a "safety" by the state issue (Look at any previous sporting event, they are slowly becoming less and less the sport and more and more the protect our players! No damage! Oh goodness our fights are bad! You are living in a giant downward spiral into pillowfighting because anything else is too dangerous).
You are punching another guy/girl/being directly in the face until one of you drops or is unable to punch/kick/fight the other person's face, wtf about any of that is safe? Are you seriously so daft that you think paperwork stops these sports from being dangerous? Now, I have been harsh, I have been a large amount tongue in cheek, but I do agree on the bloodwork issues. Healthy fighters are good, but I would bring up your "How is this relevant?" spiele, because when did I say "WOWIE lets bleed over each other and leave that unchecked!" The fight in the article was a mom looking woman vs a MMA shirt wearing fighter, the fighter knocked the woman out and it ended. Bloodplay really wasn't an issue here, so I am not following. No one in these matches has been injured or had diseases, according to the articles we are debating it was "Momzilla" vs "Big Bad MMA lady" please keep it together. It is about butthurt feelings, someone lost a fight. Badly, I might add. Now "everyone and their mother is calling in the fighting commission" because of a mismatched fight.
