I have a Kindle - I like it for a certain kind of book, the sort that I won't re-read. At the moment I have several non-fiction things to read plus a dozen or two other books on the ready. I like not having to use two hands to hold the pages or turn pages. E-ink is the only way to go, backlights are bullshit for reading.

Exactly my thoughts, E-Ink is so important for me. I am not a fan of those ereaders that are simply tablets.

Totally agree on the E-ink. I like that I can charge up my kindle and use it for a couple weeks. I've been meaning to take it on a backpacking trip with me. The idea of having a room full of books in the palm of my hand is just exciting. I want to be posted up in a hammock with my books.
I've had the kindle app on all my phones and a couple of tablets and have never used it. Now my tablet is excellent for reading comics.

Kindle user here, I love mine. It actually got me back into reading and got me purchasing more books than I used to. It also helps me save space since I live in a small apartment and already have a bookshelf full of books taking up space.
Oh, and advice to anyone getting one: buy a case for it too. I got a really nice leather one for mine and I'm pretty sure it saved my kindle's screen twice already.

I have a Kindle Fire. I was actually having some trouble reading for some time, and my Kindle managed to get me back into it, thankfully. It has always been an important hobby to me, and I felt bad for not managing to focus on my reading, but I think I've gotten it down, now.
I wanted a paperwhite or a more normal Kindle, too, simply because the screen is better to read - but that's not going to happen anytime soon, so I'm happy with my Fire for now.
The books are cheaper, and it gives me access to a lot of books far more easily... I love the real books, but I guess I can't really afford them that often, and I'm glad to have an option that lets me read as much as I want.

The point is e-ink.

a kobo was my first ereader. i accidently left it on a bus. i am glad i did though because it allowed me to get a kindle touch which is better in every possible way. i had no idea how shit kobo was until i used a kindle. even just turning the page on a kobo is a chore

I have a Kindle Paperwhite. Got me reading again after a long break. I can read it in the dark, in bed, without needing a light to disturb the woman next to me.

I just got one for Christmas, and since I've finished two books and am in the middle of two others (After a 2, close to 3 year dearth).
E-Ink is surprisingly more awesome than I could have imagined. Reading off an E-Ink display is so much better than an LCD display for whatever reason. Maybe it's because E-Ink is a physical thing, instead of pixels emitting various colors of light.

I love my Paperwhite, and my neverending stream of free books from archive.org all lined up neatly in my Calibre program.

I love my kindle paper white but I hate only having digital copies of things so I typically read actual books instead. I hope someday they make it so if you buy a book you get the digital download with it.
