I have a Nook.

I had the original first generation e-ink Nook for like 5 years. I still buy physical copies of books for my shelf, but I almost exclusively do my actual reading on the e-reader.

Near Christmas time I finally dropped and broke the old one, and they dont make a comparable version anymore. The current available Nooks are the glowlight (e-ink screen, but square shape... I didnt like that its not shaped the way most books are shaped) and the Samsung Tab 4 Nooks. So I got a 7" Tab 4 as a replacement. I thought I wouldnt like the LCD screen because I really loved the e-ink, but Ive gotten used to it and I really like it now. Also, it can play Hearthstone, which is cool :)

Kindle user here, I love mine. It actually got me back into reading and got me purchasing more books than I used to. It also helps me save space since I live in a small apartment and already have a bookshelf full of books taking up space.

Oh, and advice to anyone getting one: buy a case for it too. I got a really nice leather one for mine and I'm pretty sure it saved my kindle's screen twice already.

I use the Kindle Paperwhite - but really any ereader that uses eink (if thats the term) instead of a regular screen is well worth purchasing. They are very convenient for traveling or if you like reading outside of the house, you can have a selection of books with you at all times and the battery life is usually a good few days worth at least.

It's telling of this industry when I can buy a physical book for a less expensive price then a e-book, which is what I do. I then pirate the e-book for my tablet. Anyone else do this?

I think there are benefits to using both. There's nothing like having a huge library available to you anywhere and being able to take as many books as you want with you. I love being able to read in low light or the dark without a booklight and some batteries.

But reading a paper book is still so satisfying. So I still buy and read them. Mark-up is still overall easier despite the advancements. I am not as comfortable using my ereader in the bath (but I do) so that's another benefit to paper books. And no electricity required to power on. My ereader battery lasts a long time, but when it dies, it does so right when I want to read on the train!

I think they have different functions, and there is room in my life for both. Now if only there a way to increase my reading speed to supersonic so I could read all of the books on my extensive list!

I have a kindle that I only use while on breaks while at work. Otherwise, I actually enjoy reading a real-life book instead. For me a hard copy is how I grew up reading books and it feels most comfortable while lounging around on the sofa and reading. A tablet, like a kindle or ipad just seems like I need to be out and about somewhere to read. Purely psychological I know.

I use ebook apps on my phone and read while traveling.
