I just found this sub but Ill throw my hat in I guess. I have a background in Hinduism (from my family) and Catholicism (Ive read most of the Bible because I went to a Catholic high school) but as my username, I decided to become an atheist after I graduated high school. I think mods should mostly only remove spam and illegal content and leave the rest up to the users to downvote/upvote. Im also in law school right now so Im a pretty big supporter of free speech

I have had a lot of applications for mod and I can't possibly accept them all (there have been 20 or so messages sent to me privately). This time I won't be including you just because you yourself admit your new to the sub. Sorry, that's a lame reason I know but I just can't accept everyone and its going to be somewhat arbitrary.

I'd volunteer but I'm quite the purist about moderating which is to say I'd only be interested in stopping something that is Spam or amounts to 'Spamming' because its just blocks of repeated things over and over. I don't like 'topic stacking' or that thing where people purposely start 40 new topics so as to push a hated-topic 'off the page'. The only other thing i have a problem with is posts that are insults with zero other content or purpose (not counting zany, funny jabs now and then).

So in a sense I'm not much of a point or purpose as a moderator other than probably asking Atheists to stop 'brigading' and hijacking everything for the purpose of doing so (not out of genuine interest).

hardcore lutheran here. sometimes a presby!

I would like to become the mod. My spiritual beliefs cross between Buddhist, Shia Muslim, Russian Orthodox, and Pagan beliefs. However, I don't want to have these religions merged into a single one because I want the world's people to have a choice between the religions they choose, or have the ability to have none at all. So de-facto I'm a spiritual, but not religious person. With passiveness of Buddhism I shall provide interest-free loans of Islam on assistance of inter-faith dialogue while letting everyone keep their faiths freely like Pagans worship without the need of theocracy. Please baptize me with mod powers like I was baptized in my early days to the Orthodox church.

My main issue with ragbagger wasn't necessarily that his posts were anti islam, I more had a problem with how the content was presented. They were factually incorrect, derisive, and inentionally inflammatory.

As I mentioned in the comments, there is a difference between censorship and ensuring quality content. I'm Muslim and would mod Islam related content (I'm not a religious scholar). I wouldn't delete dissenting or harshly critical viewpoints of Islam (if I did you should remove me as mod), because people should be able defend their religious views. I'm an outspoken racist though so maybe that would disqualify me, but I wouldn't advertise that side of me into this sub. Racism is also frowned upon in islam.

So long as you don't express or enact any racism here you could be considered for the position of mod - on that proviso, you leave any biases and prejudices at the door and obviously don't remove content because you don't agree with it.

Agreed. Like I said, I have no problem with anti Islam content. It should be high quality content though.

I would think a good moderator would have knowledge of religion and their own belief but still be open minded enough to listen to others'views without judging. My take on religion is here is my belief but who am I to say I am right and you are wrong? I think if people had more of a tolerant attitude towards religion this world would be a much better place.

He told me he makes the animations, so I asked him if he owns the site. I'm waiting on the response, but I looked into it and you'd be surprised who registered the site.
