Well, this week I haven't really watched much of anything, so I guess I'll post the post I didn't post last week:
Hyouka, I think, is one of the definitive SoLs. While it's tinged with elements of classic mystery here and there, at the end of the day it's a show about four highschoolers doing highschooler things and being gosh dang charming while they do it. Plot-wise, Hyouka has a series of fairly well-put together mysteries to underly the SoL elements, each of them setting the stage for a variety of character interactions between the main cast that make the show dynamic in spite of its relatively static setting.
The show is very obviously a PA Works anime, and its reputation for eyegasmic animation is well deserved. While there's nothing really flashy about Hyouka, the devil's in the details - it's hard to describe just how good a few people sitting in a room can look when they're animated properly. Quality animation pairs well with some great character design; Oreki and Chitanda especially are just fantastic characters in their construction.
I'm not usually a fan of SoL - I prefer that something be happening aside from basic human interactions. Hyouka, however, tickles my fancy in some way that's difficult to articulate and manages to get over that bias with simple, intriguing storytelling and well-written dialogue. Oreki's transition into a rose-tinted life is fun to watch and satisfying to finish. Here's hoping that the LN author actually finishes the series.

Almost done with Hunter x Hunter. Episode 133. I am still absolutely loving the show. Thanks to everyone who told me to keep watching and to prepare myself. I see a lot of similarities to Goku as a child in Dragon Ball and Yusuke in Yu Yu Hakusho.
I'm trying to figure out if I want to try and get back into the current tokusatsu shows, or if I should just dive in to One Outs or Kuroko no Basuke. I haven't enjoyed a sports anime since Ippo and/or Prince of Tennis, so I think those two are definitely next on my list.

Aria the Animation. Very peaceful. Nice to throw up on the projector, grab a drink, and re-lax.

Recently finished up No Game No Life, overall I liked it. I found the concept interesting, and enjoyed the references to other anime and video games.
Ending was a little disappointing. It could have went without the cliffhanger ending that felt shoehorned in, but nonetheless NGNL is something I'd probably watch again.

Now that I’ve finished Game of Thrones, I can use that time to go back and watch older anime...yay
Zetsuen no Tempest Episodes 1-6/24
I...don’t really know how to describe the plot of this show without going into too much into spoiler territory. I don’t really know what to classify as spoiler territory so far, but eh. The plot is putting in a number of twists and questions (one of its genres is psychological), so I don’t particularly know what is going on at times.
I’m finding this show quite enjoyable so far. The main two guys (Yoshino and Mahiro) aren’t exactly original, but they aren’t completely annoying to watch, and Hakaze makes for an likable character. The mystery that’s thrown around her character is intriguing, and I do look forward to seeing where that goes. Aika also has a sense of mystery around her character which the show is slowly revealing as it goes on, which considering her role in the main story, is also something which I want to see fully explained. There’s a load of factors that the show has introduced within the main plot, and part of me feel that everything is going to end up being connected in a satisfying way. I hope that is true and I want to see it happen.
The show is animated by Bones, so as you’d expect, the battle scenes look great. The battles are quite fluid in terms of animation, and the way that they integrate the magic into the fighting (considering that this show is set within the real world and this type of magic is actually all about defensive, so the characters need to take advantage of that) is pretty great. Yeah, I’m finding this show is pretty good so far
The OP is done by the same people who did the second OP for PsychoPass...it’s great :)

That show was a pretty fun watch. While the protags aren't tremendously original characters, I still found them and their motivations to be pretty interesting.

I watched it because I wanted some ecchi but it didn't have much. It still was funny most of the time.
I really liked it. SoLs like this one are very rare and not many people watch them. My only complain is that it was too dramatic for my taste.
Finally finished this. It was a fun ride but I don't have plans to watch the second part yet. I never expected JoJo spoilers.
Koi Kaze disappointed me. The first 8 episodes were too slow, repetitive and a bit useless. They could have showed the same thing in 4 or 5 episodes. The ending itself is also awful. No conclusive ending and they don't show the consequences of doing what they did. I can't understand how people think Koi Kaze is so good when for me it is the definition of wasted potential.
I watched this because I was seeing people saying it was not your typical ecchi harem and I needed to check if it was true. It had some nice dialogue and interactions but besides that it was pretty average. Tits&ass shots were good tho :>
First two movies were good. It's a shame they skipped some stuff but both movies were longer than 2 hours so it's understandable. The third movie disappointed me. I really didn't like where the story went even though I understand why they wanted to make it like that. Or maybe I'm just a huge Homura fan that only realized it when watching the movies and then got butthurt over certain things of Rebellion. It was still fun.
Even though it is old as fuck it's still pretty good. I really want to see where the show goes. I also love Char. For some weird reason he's the more interesting character so far. Unfortunately I can't get myself to watch many episodes of it a day, so I'm going very slowly.
I'm starting to slow down :(
During summer break (July, August and ~first half of September) I try to watch an average of 12 episodes a day but near the end it gets very difficult for the obvious reason. The funny part is that half of the anime I watch in a year is in a period of 2.5 months.
Sometimes I wish I was a NEET so I could try to watch 12 episodes a day for a whole year :>

I think one of the things that really makes Outbreak Company is its sense of self awareness. GATE is similar in that respect. Just one of those shows that manages to be more fun than it has any right to be.

I admire your persistence in watching so many series at once. Your dedication should be applauded.
Look on the bright side of not being a NEET, you aren't at risk of turning into the MC of Welcome to the NHK.

It's not really at the same time. I only start something after I'm finished with the one I'm watching, except for airing, Gundam and Jojo.

Did you know I've been reading the light novel?

Started Fate/zero and I think I'll be done by today O_O that show is so good. A lot of people say to start with FSN (or the VN) first but I'd rather try this out as it's a prequel. Gotta admit I don't see why saber is so good, she's quite annoying but maybe she'll improve I don't know.
