tax exempt non profits are just as shitty as tax sheltering corps. When they get around minimum wage by hiring volunteers, and get top heavy with highly paid paper pushers, I seriously consider doing away with the exemption altogether, or at least creating stringent rules that weed out theae sort of tax shelters.

And they are exempt from do-not-call lists.

Not to defend Jared, but isn't that about the same as the stats for most charities?

Charity abuse is so rampant. It should be way more difficult to setup a non-profit than it is.

This is pretty standard. The government has squeezed most small to medium sized businesses to death so there's no money there anymore. If you want to make the big bucks, you have to go to a sector that the Democrat party likes and funnels tax money into. These are (in order): 1) Government, 2) Massive Corporations, 3) Liberal nonprofits

At one point I was helping to haul scrap from a thrift store(broken appliances, mainly) and the owner at one point got to talking on and on about how the real money was in nonprofits(his store was raising money for inner city kids). He was pretty successful at it, too, even opening up another location last I saw him, though some time later I went by his original spot and it wasn't there anymore. Not sure if he just decided to move or if the business went under, but they were a great deal on nice shirts when I moved into more normal employment and needed some.
