Maybe it's cliche, I'm not sure, but growing up and finding Dark Side of The Moon in your father's record collection really leaves a profound impact on your life with songs like Time:

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day

Fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way

Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town

Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking

Racing around to come up behind you again

The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older

Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Music is fun to listen to but it's obviously best when it actually speaks to you.

For me, I've always loved that part in the middle of Black by Pearl Jam;

I know someday you'll have a beautiful life,

I know you'll be a star

In somebody else's sky

But why

Can't it be mine

Most of Pearl Jam would be a good answer, imo.

Yeah. Nothingman really had an impact on me for a while there.

Speaking of Pearl Jam, Rearviewmirror is a lyrical masterpiece, as "strong" as it can get in my opinion!
