Yesterday, and later today. I do all of my schoolwork in a notebook then type it in to the computer. I formulate what I write better physically writing it out and typing it into the computer makes for a good editing process. Even for computer-based classes I usually plan out what I am doing on paper before starting because it helps me think through it better.

Daily.
I burn through bic pens like crazy. I used to have a collection of empty ones, but someone threw them out. Now I just have the two I've killed in the last couple months.

I have composition books with a running lab journal for all my network lab gear, and a stack of them ready for to go. I plan to scan them and compile them into a "choose your own adventure" type document so that I can look up a protocol and then look up the configuration notes for different OS/hardware.

Everyday, I write down notes and thoughts or songs I heard on the radio that I liked, so I remember the band name.I even use a fountain pen sometimes.

Daily at work for reminder notes, etc. I'm also studying for my accounting degree and often write out my assignments in pencil or ink prior to typing them for submission. Not sure why, an old habit I guess, but I get a lot of satisfaction seeing my work on paper still.
