A Mighty Fortress.
It is a game so old, the board is actually an A2 piece of paper! It is set in Europe during the religious tension caused by the reformation, with the map on a hexagonal grid. The players take on the role of either England, France, The Hapsburgs or the Ottoman Empire fighting for political expansion, or the Lutherans or the Papacy for religious domination.
It's my favourite because I think it has the perfect balance between strategy and probabilistic uncertainty, and because I love history!

I'm old school, Monopoly all the way. Or scrabble. No one will play with me anymore though because I win a lot. :(

I just started playing Eldritch Horror, and I'm having a lot of fun with it! There are a lot of components, but once you play through a couple of rounds it all clicks and it offers a lot of depth. Its cooperative, and the game changes depending on which enemy/characters you play the game with.

Does Mario Party 64 count? If not, Monopoly. Nothing like screwing your friends with the throw of a die.

I only recently got into board games, so my favourite varies every few weeks, but right now it's Puerto Rico.
