I'd have to go with Salem and Rios from the Army of Two series. Their lighthearted banter and teasing shows a camaraderie that's difficult to write for convincingly in a game, and they embrace the idea of comrades under fire as well. Lighthearted or serious, this is one of my favorite pairs to play as with a good friend of my own.

Excellent choice. I played through the first two games with a good buddy of mine, and still have great memories of it :) To this day I still don't know how he almost always managed to beat me on rock-paper-scissors, but he did...

Those robots from Portal 2. I normally think the writing in co-op levels is pretty dull, so my runner up is Master Chiefs one and two, since it gives the players something stupid to argue about. Like "No, I was piloting the bomb!"

That's a good answer. Not much in the way of dialog, but I think the dynamic is there.
