this is a great idea and here's why: people would watch. viewership for presidential debates is usually pretty low, considering the importance. millions of new people would watch a debate if Jon Stewart was moderating.

The first republican debate drew a record 24 million viewers. Pretty good.

I guess Stewart would bring in the giggity crowd, if they have the night off from the Barnes&Noble snack shack.

The first republican debate drew a record 24 million viewers. Pretty good.

Only because a former reality-show host was on stage the entire time. Which effectively proves the point that was being made in regards to Jon Stewart's ability to get high ratings.

Yeah, lets get a comedian with a clear left-wing bias to "moderate" a debate. Brilliant

Have him moderate a Democratic primary debate first to see how he does.

Let Stew moderate a Pub debate and Stossel a Dim debate... just to shake things up.

Regardless of how funny or smart people think he is, he'd be an atrocious moderator. If he did a DNC debate, he would do nothing but toss softballs. If it was a GOP debate, every single question would be like the one Megyn Kelly asked Trump. Either way, the audience would learn nothing from the experience.
