The Sopranos would make a great Telltale type game.

Serenity. Western Sci fi gun slinging spaceship flying sounds like fun.

too soon... I'll be in my bunk.
crying.
But yes. If done right, could be the best game ever.

After 13 hours of playing, the game crashes to the desktop and won't relaunch. Three years later, it'll finally restart and let you play for a couple of hours, then crash again. Every few months, a message will pop up on the desktop suggesting that the game may become playable soon, but it never does.

I feel like No Man Sky is gonna be this game but without the charm. I would like to see this then trying to bring the show back since everyone could voice act their characters.
[–] President-Sanders ago
No man sky will be like a game which turns any website you go to into a hashed fingerprint, then takes each letter and paints the sky and tree density and land coverage and random limb sized animals with it, giving you almost the same but different gaudy looking planet in which you can do nothing but think "wow so this is what ft.com looks like as a planet".
It will have so little charm... :/ but I have to admit I was dazzled by their first videos, but it looks like they got stuck in that gap between "interesting prototype" and "game".

Sorry, but that just has scam written all over it. Nothing of what they show actually makes me think there is any kind of decent game there. It looks like a bunch of Firefly assets they downloaded and threw together into a nice little trap for the ever gullible "shut up and take my money" generation. Get a little cash crowdfunding it, get a little cash doing a half assed early access, sit around and never finish it. Seen it a thousand times.
If they actually have the official license for that IP these guys and all the morons giving them money are probably the worst enemy of anyone who wants to see a real Firefly game.
[–] mcseanerson 0 points 3 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago
I saw that game announced. It looks like crap. I'd rather have a solo game with a well done campaign with a new firefly story. Preferably first person but third person could work good too.

When will the game be released?
We don’t currently have an official ship date, but just know the team is busting pigu and it’ll be out there as soon as it’s shiny.
harrumph.
I hope it's because they are voice acting the crew of serenity for some missions.
It looks really bad - either this is a fox executive trying to run with the rights, on a show string, or a scam, I agree with @Aetrion it looks lackluster right now.

Oblivion. Open world survival/exploration game with lots of gadgets, weapons, and vehicles. Faction fighting between the (spoiler), the rogue humans, and yourself. If you die in the game, you are cloned and shipped down to the surface.
The game could be Mass Effect esque and the end could result in salvation of the remnants of humanity or the defeat of the human uprising, depending on what side you take.

I just barely got a flash of your spoiler on accident. Dammit.

I think expanding Marvel's cinematic universe into gaming would make for some interesting games. I'm not talking about the cheesy one-off companion games for each movie, but more of a unified franchise more like the Arkham series did for Batman. It would be an undertaking to be done well, but they could do for superhero games what The Avengers did for superhero movies.
[–] spike11117 [S] 0 points 3 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago
The main thing you can say the Arkham games is that they showed you can make a great superhero game.
[–] ChillyHellion 0 points 2 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago
Exactly. And I think that the Nolan Batman films and the Marvel Avenger films showed that you can make a great superhero movie. I love when a half-serious idea (comic book movies) is suddenly taken seriously and the industry sees the merit in it. I think that doing the same for comic book video games could be pretty amazing. I think that the Arkham games arguably achieved this, and I'd love to see something similar from Marvel.

Inception.

What sytle would you have it in.

Iron Giant. Looks to be what The Last Guardian is chasing.

Uncharted 4 and last of us 2 are some good reasons too.
[–] themoosecave 0 points 14 points 14 points (+14|-0) ago
Edge of Tomorrow. You're just another soldier in the war, nothing special about you but whenever you die you wake up in the barracks. There are no checkpoints, and the longer you survive the more time you have to figure out various things like why you're not dying, why these certain factions are at war, etc.
[–] alviator 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
And it'll have an awesome tagline as the video game based on a movie, based on by a manga, based on a novel, inspired by video games.
[–] R0ot ago
I feel like this is most single player FPS games these days is it not? I mean a lot of folks simply reply their checkpoint over and over again until they get the right combination or path to move further.
[–] themoosecave 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
I guess the big difference would be you start all the way from the beginning, or at least the beginning of where the gameplay starts, to make dying a more serious thing instead of just "Oops, I died. Oh well, I had a checkpoint like a minute ago, I'll just be a little bit more careful." The only problem then is that you either can't make the game long enough because it has to be continuous or you make separate missions that are a lot longer, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the original idea.
