I think Biscuit has some points, and I like his measured approach to things.

However, I have very little issue with people pointing and laughing at stupidity. If that is strangely popular on the board then so be it. I don't really have the time for anyone who wants to judge someone based entirely on their conversation and jokes. Actions speak louder than words, and people pointing and laughing isn't setting anything back.

If we are supposed to be playing some game of image preservation then we lost that battle a long time ago.

TB just has concerns and that is reasonable, and at least he addressed them in a civil and polite manner.

The way to approach gamergate is to not criticize people like Anita directly. It is becoming evident that McIntosh might be behind what Anita says and write about.

It is more effective to go and criticize journalists who defend such people as McIntosh and Anita. When they try to mock gamergate as ethics in journalism, then they look like complete ass hats when gamergate does such.

For Example, like when PC gamer was made accountable for there actions we gamergate found out about there collusion with a journalist and a Ubisoft employee.

We are making progress, and it will be slow, and gamergate might go cold like Captain America.

But these journalist hacks will mess up and will get more out cry cause they do not learn that messing with the consumer in a capitalistic society is never a win in the long run.

Look at what's happend to KiA. People have become aggressive tightwads with a loud voice and itchy downvoting finger. All because of drama. You can't even say anything of a differing opinion or you're called a shill and get downvoted. Yes, keeping the drama around is clearly the right move.

The irony of this whole thing burns, an e-celeb telling us what we should and shouldn't do. If people are seriously for this kind of garbage because it came from TB, then this movement is dead. It'll be just like Occupy in short matter of time. Can't wait to see what happens when the SJWs have it fully infected.

Some e-celeb gives out shitty advice and sheep follow, yeah, you're pretty doomed. Enjoy your new-found authoritarianism!

I don't like how he is getting preachy about what we should or shouldn't be doing. Want to help TB, go right ahead.

But don“t act like what kia and gg has been doing is anything less than fucking impressive.

I can understand a lot of the points TB is making, but I feel like he doesn't quite appreciate that GG has grown into a community. A natural part of that is going to be talking shit, making bad jokes and communal facepalm sessions. This advice would have been fantastic right at the very start, IMO, but right now we're too big and diverse to trim down what makes up our community.

As TB rightly points out, we've been unfairly labelled for coming on to 6 months now. The frustration with that is channelled in various ways, including eceleb bullshit, and while I'd like to concentrate less on it I can completely understand why people need to vent. I think the best solution is what is (I think) currently being implemented; eceleb drama stuff being moved to the Chatroom subreddit.

Exactly. Trying to change the community is a no-no, but having one or two places being more a specialty should be A-OK

E-celebs are always going to be at the forefront. I think it's just the way people are, but if enough people don't want to see it then it will be downvoted and put off the front.

The mods could intervene and stop the e-celeb stuff, but it will just fall apart for them if they did that.
