I don't see this helping his campaign. As time goes on, public opinion of BLM continues to get worse, and this must look like capitulation to Sanders supporters who watched them kick him off his own stage. He probably should have just told them to fuck off at the time and cited his very pro civil rights history later.

This guy seems like he doesn't really want to be President, a President needs backbone to handle things. Day one in office is he going to call Russia and apologize for supporting the Ukraine rebels/government? Call Iran and say the nuclear deal isn't good enough, the US can do better for their people? Sorry, but capitulating to BLM people (that even BLM organizers said was wrong) is horrible leadership and a bad sign of things he might do in office.

Showing weakness in the face of these thugs will be fatal. On the other hand, it can be practice for another Obama "World Apology Tour" if he gets elected. Always good to be prepared.
