Proves again those radios are a junk purchase

You must have a HAM RADIO

No you do not need a license, they say you must but they also SAY alot of other shit.

Study basic testing and youll understand how to find the channels/frequencies to communicate globally.

My SOS radio is back now. Sunday December 20th, 2020 at 5:30pm PT. So it was down for 24 hours.

So a few things are listed, there's a radio down, there's flights going to and fro different airports. What kind of conclusions can be made?

look out Washington.

Pffft. I'm in Washington. 45 mins from the Canadian border and nothing is happening here. I'm also close to Whidbey Island Naval Air Station and...nothing happening here. I'm also in an almost direct line between Joint Base Lewis-McChord and WINAS. Guess what? Nothing is happening here.

What are the call letters of your noaa station, and has it come back up yet?

What are the call letters of your noaa station,

I don't know. To be honest radio stuff is not my strength. My strength is digital stuff.

Any radio-pro-anon here who know the call letters thing for this station? All I know is this:

  • Frequency: 162.525 MHZ
  • Station: Texada Island
  • Frequency (MHz): 162.525

Source https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/weatheradio/find-your-network/british-columbia.html

and has it come back up yet?

Nope. Still interrupted/down.

OK, if you're sure the frequency is 162.525 (not the more common 162.550, which is WX ch. 1 in US), then the station is CGX-451.

Found both entries for Texada Island weather -- note the latitude/longitudes a bit diferent, so guessing the station was moved at some point, and assigned different frequency:

162.525 CGX-451 BC TEXADA ISLAND EE/FF 49 41 51 -124 26 15

162.55 VBG-969 BC TEXADA ISLAND 49 41 47 -124 26 07

Oh -- is the station back on the air yet, or still silent?
