The government mandates syringes that reduce the chances of an accidental needle stick which could transmit blood pathogens. I have personally used a couple of types of syringes with these safety features as a RN, and they do make syringes that pop back into the syringe once the plunger is fully pressed in. This is probably not a fake video.

That is not due to artifact. It happens twice in a row, and you clearly see the needle at the beginning.
