As someone who really didn't mind when they first added store mounts I really am 100% agreeing with Asmongold now.

Why do people still throw money at Blizzard when they demonstrated such great disregard, if not outright disdain, for their players? They are fucking evil money-grabbers, and it will be a long time before I would ever again trust them with my money and time.

I've been saying this since TRH. It's been five years since then, and honesty, I'm a at a point where I am still interested in WoW, but not in the gaming experience, but in the human and marketing experiment it seems to have turned into.

You know the Simpsons episode where Lisa's experimenting low long it will take Bart to learn that the sweet he's going after is coupled to an electric shock? How Bart tries again and again? That's how the remaining customer base of Blizzard looks like to me now: They're getting the shit (or money in that case) taken out of them, and they still come back and ask for a second course (edit: or expect at least that "things will change. They have to!"). It's like they're completely enthralled by an abusive partner. I mean, hell, I know people who've bitched at those mounts when they were announced, and the second they were available, they would get them anyhow.

Players buying those mounts are just as much to blame for this mess as Blizzard is for even thinking of introducing an item shop to a subscription-based game.

I think this could be solved if there were a recolored version of every store mount available in the game. They could be a rare drop, a meta achievement reward or something like that.

But that's the point. Blizzard doesn't want there to be other ways for people to get these mounts, or mounts that look similar. If they are unique then people will want to buy them.

The thing is I don't think mounts need to be unique in order to be sold for real money. I bet a lot of people would pay 20€ for a Brewfest Ram, for example.

As someone sitting just shy of 200 mounts, I cannot fathom spending money for a mount through store or TCG- where there are so many missing mounts from my list... All for re-colored mounts is kind of a shame to put forth the effort.
