It's every citizen's right (or even duty?) to record every interaction with the police. It's just so sad that without any recordings, the vast majority of these instances would have gone unpunished, because officers apparently routinely falsify their reports and cover for each-other so that legitimate complaints are dismissed as spurious. Cops of all people should insist on having all their interactions recorded, because now the public assume that cops are guilty until proven innocent in the court of public opinion, and only a video showing appropriate behavior is sufficient to quell the hysteria over any false allegation.

My job (ER doc) is similar in some ways. I interact with a lot of people who sometimes are very unhappy after the interaction and may get violent. I also sometimes have to restrain people who may be incredibly violent.

I would give my left nut to have a lapel camera to record my interactions with people. Then all the times people have complained I was inappropriate we could break out the film and some popcorn.
