Ironically banning certain foods is exactly what is happening in some parts of the country. California, for example, had banned fast food from inner cities all in the name of protecting the "poor people" who cannot "make their own choices". It is the 21st century white mans burden.

Double ironically it is the government's own sugar tariffs and corn subsidies that make High Fructose Corn Syrup so cheap in comparison to natural sugar that is spurring on the obesity epidemic. It is the classic case of the government causing a problem and then creating 3 more levels of bureaucracy to fight it instead of just fixing their original mistake.
