LOL it's widely used in the UK (amongst those of us who still have a grasp of the English language) but sounds Scandi in origin. It's interesting to know what words we hold in our vocab that the USA doesn't.

Reading an interpretation of the Danish Mask study (https://healthy-skeptic.com/2020/11/18/flash-on-the-danish-mask-study/) and the author drops the word "Niggling". Couldn't help but laugh and look it up. This one's going in the vocabulary bank.
