Did none of the people over 50 at NASA watch "Space 1999" back in the 70s?!
Actually, in truth I think it is a good idea. It would also probably be worthwhile to put one in a translunar orbit for studying it in microgravity.

For the record, Space 1999 was caused because they stored all of the Earths nuclear waste on the moon. One day for mysterious reasons the entire pile of expended rods exploded. This massive explosion forced the moon not just out of its orbit but it shot off into the universe like an out of control spaceship. Shit was retarded
It has been playing Saturdays on one of the channels I get. I really liked it when I was 10, but it really isn't good. Indeed, it is very bad. That said, the theme music is cool and I still really like the Eagles.

They’ve never been to the moon. There were never any people, mirrors, or rovers on the moon. No one has ever landed there and no one ever will; it’s impossible.

I don't know about impossible... we've just not done it because it was more prudent to fuck with Russia by claiming we did.

If it were possible, someone would have done it by now. And it would have been filmed in IMAX HD from beginning to end with multiple cameras.

It's called corruption within motion.
