The court said that the elector can't decide for himself who to vote for.
The court didn't address the state's authority to appoint their electors.

That may be undone, it’s not that Easy to just change election law concerning electors and presidential elections that’s all constitutional ...... may be an invalid law that needed a constitutional amendment for it to stand
