Polls open quite early and stay open late. Try showing up before the doors open, and the line will probably be shorter so you could vote before you have to work. Or if you get in line before the polls close, they have to let you vote—even if it takes hours for everyone in the line to vote. But do not expect to get in if you arrive even 1 minute late. (Former election judge here. This is the law.)
