"Based on these observations, we speculate that a single dose of 300,000 IU Vit D may have a role in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19."
that is a megadose.

It is hilarious when somebody thinks they know what they are talking about, when they don't. "kilodose" LOL
Seriously, "megadose" basically means a large dose. If it is tied to a quantity, it means a gram or more. I've never heard of it in the context of IU, nir have I heard of mega connotating "million" in the vitamin literature.
I'd describe 300,000 IU of D as "fucking insane".

Vitamin D is NOT water soluble and too much can literally kill you.

So just go out in the sun???
Also, nigs have dark skin that block sunlight so manye reduced Vit D is why they get covid more often?

Yes to both, but in fall-winter in northern climates no one gets enough skin exposure - a chief culprit of the “cold and flu season” as well as a spike in cancers that originate in epithelial cells.
