Without a key how do we prove we own it. what if a bug happens and our copy of windows 10 somehow gets magically deactivated? What if we have to reinstall because of massive virus/malware infection? Does upgrading to windows 10 for free leave you vulnerable to loosing your entire OS down the road and shelling out 200$ for a new one(or switch to linux lol)? What sort of protection is in place to guarantee that upgrading to windows 10 for free will get us a full version of windows 10, because if you can never reinstall it, it isn't the full version in my opinion.
Your license is tied to your Microsoft account if I recall correctly, so you reinstall from an ISO and use the same Microsoft account, then it should activate
Ok that is at least somewhat comforting lol. This article really made me worry about upgrading for a moment. I really want DX12 but I am waiting to upgrade for a bit.
ok what if it was activated without a microsoft account? If it was on a local computer account now off the network. If for some reason 3 years down the line and i have to re-install/re-image this machine will it still pull that license key. These are the situations we are nervous about.
As an IT admin im hella nervous about all this business.

And if we don't have a Microsoft account?...
